Toronto Comedy Wedding » Meagan and Blair
This Toronto comedy wedding was unlike any wedding I had ever photographed before! Meagan and I are long-time friends from our Masters degree back in Toronto. When she got in touch and described this super unique wedding, I was immediately pumped to take on the challenge.
Well, how does one execute a comedy wedding exactly? First off, Meagan and Blair rented out Bad Dog Comedy Theatre for their wedding and treated their guests to a comedy show by two fabulous local comedians – Chris Locke and Marty Topps. With jokes about roses, programmers taking over the world, and many more, everyone was in stitches by the end!
Intermission provided a chance for Meagan to to an outfit change into a gorgeous vintage style wedding dress. Their ceremony was extremely touching and their handwritten vows were perfect. I think a bunch of us got misty eyed when Blair took over the microphone holding duties when Meagan got emotional.
Since this was a December wedding, we had to get creative with our dark couples portraits. Meagan and Blair are not only comedy lovers, but Toronto lovers as well. Getting the city to be a part of their wedding portraits was important to me. We walked through some of the side streets in the snow, and then warmed up with portraits at one of their favourite bars.
The wedding reception was held at Caffino Ristorante, which was decorated beautifully for the holidays! Decor touches were Toronto memorabilia, such as signs from Honest Eds, tables named after Toronto neighbourhoods and a CN Tower cake topper all added a beautiful, unique and personal touch.
It is always an honour to photograph meaningful moments, and even more so when it is the celebration of a good friend. I had a blast photographing this wintery Toronto comedy wedding and attending their celebration filled with tonnes of love and laughter.
I absolutely LOVE how unique their wedding is! First time seeing a Comedy Wedding! Beautiful work capturing the story of their day!
What a neat venue! I love this!
