Whitby Engagement » Sharon and Peter
Well, May is here and that means the 2016 wedding season has almost arrived! My first wedding of 2016 will be for Sharon and Peter. Sharon is a very close friend of mine who I met through my other line of work (teaching). I was overjoyed when she asked me to photograph her wedding! Even though they had engagement photographs done by a friend right after they were engaged, I convinced them that it was a great opportunity for me to get to know how best to capture their relationship (posing, personalities together, etc.) and a lot of fun for them! We met in their hometown of Whitby and had plans to go to one of their favourite parks, but work hit. Poor Peter had a very tight work deadline to meet and we ended up having to delay our photo shoot by a couple hours. But, we put our best face forward, I took some photos of Sharon’s cute doge and away we went! There were epic thunderstorms earlier in the evening, so the clouds were doing fantastic things. I would randomly pull over to take advantage of the moodiness of the sky, and I’m so glad Sharon and Peter trusted me to do so! We ended up losing the sunlight and the flash equipment I had on me wouldn’t have created the mood I was looking for, so we got some awesome photographs with my car headlights and some puddles. When life gives you lemons, you take those lemons and photograph the heck out of them! (That’s the saying, right?)
