Year in Review 2014
Another fabulous year has come to an end! It has been so exciting for me to be meeting more and more wonderful people and capturing memories for them. I am so appreciative of the trust that my clients continue to place in me. Thank you! This past year, I have grown into my nature-inspired photographic style, pushed my creativity and have made exciting changes to my business. I love learning and growing and I look forward to doing more of that in 2015! To celebrate 2014, I have compiled some of my favourite photographs. In no particular order…
Wedding » Kendal and Brad
I had this pose in my mind as being perfect for Kendal and Brad, and they totally understood my vision! I adore the mixture of the fashion feel with the beautiful natural surroundings.
Wedding » Annette and Jarrett
This beautiful century home was the perfect setting for some soft portraits at Annette and Jarrett’s April wedding.
Family » Jennifer and Ryan
This family has so much fun together! The laughs in-between the posing made for some beautiful, natural smiles.
Family » Lori and Dan
Few things are more beautiful than a mother and her daughter sharing a laugh.
Anniversary » Barb and Eric
This photo shoot is close to my heart – I took my parents out for an anniversary shoot to celebrate a big wedding anniversary. I have to see if I can convince them to let me do a whole blog post about it!
Personal » Caribana 2014
Caribana (Scotiabank Caribbean Carnival) has been an annual event for my family since my childhood. I love being surrounded by joy, sparkles and such vibrant colours! This is my favourite from the day.
Personal » Jungle Cat World
This is baby Contessa, a precious tiger cub we got to meet through the fabulous Behind the Scenes program at Jungle Cat World!
Family » Jennifer and Ryan
It’s tender moments like these that I love catching most – a son and his mum playing a silly game with a leaf, and a dad warming his daughters hands.
Wedding » Kendal and Brad
This is the face of an adorable flower girl who was not happy to be woken up from her nap to be dolled up!
Family » Erica and Elisha
This little guy has a stunning smile and such genuine emotion, just like his beautiful mother!
Personal » Fergus Scottish Festival
My best friend and I attend the Highland Games in Fergus, Ontario every year! The sound of bagpipes will always be one of my favourites.
Engagement » Krista and Colin
Fall sunshine at By Chadsey’s Cairns Winery, a red truck, a hot red dress and some great chemistry made this shot come to life!
Wedding » Nicole and Andrew
It was the perfect day for a winter wedding and Nicole was enjoying some laughs in the snow before the ceremony.
Engagement » Mallory and Jesse
An intimate moment while walking through Petticoat Creek in Pickering.
Personal » Maegan and Sharone
I was a guest at this stunning wedding at Casa Loma. Close to the end of the night, the bride and groom were dancing like there was not a soul but them in the world. Beautiful.
Personal » California
Our good friends took us up to this stunning lookout spot on our trip to San Francisco. This is one of my favourite landscapes I’ve ever taken and it’s now a metallic print in our home!
Personal » Jungle Cat World
This is my favourite photograph of me from the year! My husband took it while we were playing with the lemurs at Jungle Cat World in July.
Engagement » Krista and Colin
Pure dramatic romance!
Family » Melissa and Andre
This picture cracks me up every single time!
Personal » San Francisco
A photo of a person taking a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. I love the pop of green his coat adds!
Portraits » Miss M
Such a gorgeous little girl on a beautiful fall evening.
Wedding » Kendal and Brad
The softness of the interaction between the flower girl and the ring bearer made this one of my favourites.
Personal » Grail Springs
Believe it or not, this past May was the first time I had ever seen a trillium! I was on a mother-daughter retreat at Grail Springs, a beautiful, peaceful place!
Wedding » Kendal and Brad
The guidance I gave for this pose was “act like Brad is the hottest guy you’ve ever seen” and all of their faces are perfect.
Wedding » Mallory and Jesse
Caught in the makeup chair!
Engagement » Krista and Colin
Such an adorable family and I love how the two children are looking back at the camera.
Wedding » Mallory and Jesse
Wedding + romance + beach + sunset = magic!
Personal » Bay of Quinte
A very gloomy, windy, winter afternoon.
Wedding » Kendal and Brad
A quiet, tender moment.
Wedding » Nicole and Andrew
Loving all of the bling!
Wedding » Mallory and Jesse
A laughing bridesmaid pretty in pink!
Wedding » Mallory and Jesse
Playing around with glass and reflections for this dress shot.
Family » Krista and Colin
A sweet little girl curiously looking through the vines in front of mum and dad.
Wedding » Mallory and Jesse
Love and laughs during the wedding ceremony at the Lake House in Pickering.
Wedding » Kendal and Brad
We had called a wrap on the portraits and were walking back to the car when I saw this gorgeous light by the water. Kendal and Brad enthusiastically went over to “the spot” and we got this gorgeous image.
Personal » Muir Woods
You may have seen glimpses of Muir Woods in the recent Planet of the Apes movie! I fell in absolute love with this place. I could live amongst these glorious redwoods forever!
Family » Kathy and Keith
Some laughs with the kids who were home for the holidays.
Wedding » Nicole and Andrew
A new family walks off together after the ceremony.
Personal » So long, 2014
The last glimpse of sunshine on December 31st, 2014.
