What is an Adventure Elopement?

An adventure elopement is when you and your partner (and maybe a few guests) find an epic location in nature for your ceremony. Instead of booking a venue, you head to a one-of-a-kind location at a park or conservation area. Your ceremony location can be right by a parking spot, at the end of a 8 km hike, or anything in between! Your adventure elopement can be a commitment ceremony where you read vows to each other and do all the paperwork another time, or you can find an officiant who will hike along with you to perform your ceremony! All you need to make it legal are two witnesses (your photographer can be one) and the right paperwork. Adventure elopements are intimate, personal and beautiful.

Imagine your elopement day. You’re in a beautiful outdoor setting. You’re enjoying time with your loved ones and you’re given freedom to explore and be yourselves. Sample Adventure Elopement Timeline

Wondering what your dream adventure elopement could look like? It is *not* a full day photo shoot! Basically, your photographer is there to help you plan and then capture you two having the best day!

Here’s a sample timeline of an 9 hour adventure elopement day for a couple eloping somewhere with epic views:

11:00 a.m. – Start getting ready for your elopement day! Your photographer is there capturing the moments as you put on your wedding outfits, finish off those vows. (Maybe you’ll be packing your wedding outfit to wear after the hike!) The anticipation will be building and this is a perfect time to capture those feelings!

1:00 p.m. – First look! And start the trip to your one-of-a-kind ceremony spot! We’ll be stopping along the hike for some breaks and to soak it all in!

3:30 p.m. – Your dream intimate ceremony overlooking amazing views (don’t forget to write your own vows!)

4:00 p.m. – You’re married! Pop the champagne and celebrate! We’ll start our hike back after having some time for you two bask in that newly married feeling!

6:30 p.m. – Romantic dinner for two – could be a picnic or privately catered!

8:00 p.m. – Sunset photos before we say goodbye!

3:00 p.m. – I meet you on-location for your gorgeous forest elopement ceremony (don’t forget to write your own vows!)

3:30 p.m. – Celebrate! We’ll get some photographs with the guests who are there

4:00 p.m. – Explore the forest for some gorgeous photos of the two of you and to give you some space to have some time to yourselves

6:00 p.m. – Join your guests for a celebratory dinner at a nearby restaurant or maybe you have a backyard BBQ!

7:30 p.m. – Sunset photos before we say goodbye!
