Fall Wedding at Whispering Springs

I just blogged about the best venues for forest weddings in Ontario, and Whispering Springs is high on that list! So I figure that it is a good time to blog this amazing fall wedding I photographed at Whispering Springs. Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat is a stunning glamping venue in Grafton, Ontario. It is a perfect spot for an outdoor forest wedding. In fact, they like to call their weddings “wilderness weddings!” I discovered this amazing Ontario wedding venue through Cori and Aaron, a low-key couple who selected it as the location for their small wedding. With 30 guests and no wedding party, they wanted their guests to view their wedding as a weekend getaway that also happened to feature a wedding.

Cori and Aaron selected Whispering Springs because they love the outdoors and adventure. They were immediately drawn to the the feeling of having a destination wedding so close to home. With the forest chapel and reception all on site, all the guests and festivities could be in one place.

Whispering Springs Fall Wedding Highlights

Cori and Aaron describe each other as “true best friends and each other’s best advocates and personal cheer section.” Their wedding day was full of this feeling! They are a quiet couple, so they knew that they wanted a first look. (This is something that I’ll never push my couples to do, but will embrace it if that’s what they want!) I have to say, this is one of the most emotional first looks I have ever seen. They wanted to meet on the bridge for this special moment. To capture it, I got in the water to give them space to feel alone and to capture everything as it unfolded.

The rest of this fall wedding at Whispering Springs was a dream. We did some exploring for portraits and they had their gorgeous ceremony in the forest chapel. Since Cori and Aaron had done their portraits ahead of time, they spent the evening mixing and mingling with their family and friends by the fire and under the stars.

If you are looking for an outdoor wedding venue, I could not recommend Whispering Springs highly enough! It was perfect for a September wedding and is catered to couples who love being outside.
