Anastasia and Ed knew early on that they wanted to have a Haliburton Destination Wedding! The Ontario Highlands are notorious for their lush forests and gorgeous lakes, and Bonnie View Inn has a combination of both! Bonnie View Inn is a resort on Lake Kashagawigamog, which is a quick drive away from Haliburton. There is gorgeous beach front on one side and many activities for guests to enjoy during their stay. Bonnie View Inn weddings are a dream! They make it so easy to have a Haliburton destination wedding. Everything is planned perfectly. Ed and Anastasia each got ready in separate cabins before meeting the ceremony under bright sunny skies.
Forest Wedding Ceremony in Haliburton
Anastasia and Ed were married the week before in an intimate Orthodox ceremony in Oshawa, which was a gorgeous ceremony steeped in tradition. For their Haliburton destination wedding, Anastasia and Ed had their heart set on getting married in the forest. Bonnie View Inn had the perfect spot for them just across the street! It was a bit of a hike up hill for the guests, but the SUV shuttle (aka Anastasia’s Dad) was able to drop guests off at the top of the hill in the heart of the forest.
The ceremony was officiated by Joan Weir under a stunning arch. They had bug spray available for guests, but luckily, it wasn’t needed! I love when couples let emotions flow freely during their wedding ceremony!
Romantic Forest and Lakeside Photographs
One thing I loved most about photographing a destination wedding at Bonnie View Inn was the variety of locations available for us to take photographs! The light in the forest was just as dreamy as the sunset by the lake.

The speeches were a mixture of emotional and hilarious. Anastasia and Ed were deeply touched by all of them. They wowed the guests with a beautifully choreographed dance before they partied the night away! (And as Queen’s alum, it was quite the party!)

You can tell by this gorgeous wedding that Bonnie View Inn is a perfect spot for a destination wedding in Ontario! The entire day was relaxed and romantic, and I know Anastasia and Ed will treasure the memories forever!
