High Park Engagement Photographs
I’ll be honest – Megan and Kirill originally were not too keen on having engagement photographs taken, and this is something I hear every once and a while from prospective clients. I’m happy to skip them but I do include them complimentary in all of my packages because I value them so much. They are an amazing opportunity for me to get to know my couples better and learn about what is flattering and fits them best as a couple. Engagement sessions are also the first time many people have had professional photographs taken, so it helps reduce the nerves for the wedding day. We often choose a meaningful location to have engagement or adventure photographs which helps create memories in of itself, and as an added bonus, my couples get an amazing keepsake afterwards of themselves looking fantastic pre-wedding!
Once I explained the benefits of the engagement session, Megan and Kirill were on board! I’m so glad they were because it gave me a chance to get to know this sweet and smart couple. They met at Queen’s, but were engaged in the gorgeous High Park in Toronto, so it was really meaningful to them to have High Park engagement photographs! High Park is basically the Central Park of Toronto, which makes it a hot spot for photo sessions! (Word of caution – it’s not possible to get a photography permit for High Park, so it’s always good to go with a backup plan, just in case). We were able to have the photo session exactly one year from when they were engaged! So naturally, we first went to the exact spot where they were engaged and then explored more of the park to seek out the gorgeous fall Toronto colours. We got some fantastic images and I am so excited for their summer wedding in Kingston!
