Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat

If you are an Ontario couple who has not heard of Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat as a dream wedding destination, you should drop everything and look it up right away! This gem is in Grafton, Ontario, which is a hop skip and a jump away from Toronto and Belleville. I took a tour of the site last week in preparation for a styled shoot coming up this spring. I am so excited about this elopement and intimate wedding venue! I just had to share these phone photographs I snapped while on a winter tour!

As soon as you drive through the gate, you get a stunning view of 200 acre property. The property is covered with natural springs and bridges to help you get from one area to the next. There is a central area with a fire pit, hot tub, swimming pool, outdoor showers, muskoka chairs and a covered area for eating. The luxury tents are all within walking distance to the central area, but with enough space in between them that you feel like you are in a world of your own.

As Nancy was touring me around Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat, it is immediately evident that this is a family passion project. The family are all involved in different ways, which I think is what helps gives it the welcoming family feel. Nancy’s vision is so inspiring. She talks about Whispering Springs like it is a living and breathing being, and it is, thanks to the life that she has infused into it. This year, they are adding additional luxury tents and horses to the property and there are exciting plans in the works for future expansions.

Nancy visualizes things that most people couldn’t dream of if they tried! As a wedding and elopement photographer, the most exciting part of the tour was seeing the Forest Chapel. There is a walk to this gorgeous site, and they have a golf cart available for the bride on the wedding day. Nancy’s goal is for the focus to be on the forest, but will be adding additional elements to give the space a formal feel in the outdoors.

Intimate Weddings and Elopements at Whispering Springs

Whispering Springs is booked with 9 wilderness weddings already this season. They have a designated wedding coordinator to help you plan your perfect intimate outdoor wedding. It can be as casual or as formal as you would like it to be! Your guests can stay in tents on-site, or in nearby Cobourg. Whispering Springs also makes a perfect location for an Ontario elopement, and there is still availability for weekday elopements this year! Imagine the two of you in the forest chapel, retreating to your luxury tent under the stars. All the fixings for steak dinner for two delivered to your doorstep. A delicious breakfast in bed the next morning. The perfect combination of nature and romance!

I am so in love with this venue and it is a perfect destination for an intimate wedding getaway.
