Yosemite Adventure Session with the Adventurers Workshop

There have been a few experience in my life that have been life changing with regards to photography, and this Yosemite adventure session with Hannah and Jason, under the guidance of Maddie Mae and the Hearnes is way up at the top of the list!

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of attending The Adventurers Workshop   This workshop is dedicated to adventurous sessions, elopements and weddings. I had always wanted to attend a photography workshop, but either the photographers didn’t sing out to my style, or the timing just wasn’t right. The timing for the first round of the workshop wasn’t right either, but when they opened up a new set of dates I lost my mind with excitement. I was on pins and needles waiting for registration to open to snag myself a spot and I’m so glad that I did! Yosemite has been top of my list to visit for a very long time, but it’s not easy to get to. I had been discouraged by the amount of visitors that the park receives and travel can be tricky from Ontario. But Yosemite in February being guided by some of the best photographers in the industry was literally a dream come true.

The workshop had an amazing balance of theory and practice in the field. Hannah and Jason are a real couple who donated their time to allow us to photograph them around Yosemite Valley. We also had a chance to photograph them in their amazing van! (#vanlife) One of my favourite things about this experience was that it was fascinating to watch the other photographers work. There were some things that were similar, but I had the most fun observing photographers taking approaches that I had not previously thought of. I truly believe that my photography has transformed because of this experience and I am so grateful. I love being an Ontario adventure photographer and I definitely have more skills as a result of this amazing workshop. I know I’ll treasure the memories of this Yosemite adventure session for a long, long time.
