Cullen Central Park Engagement Photographs » Anastasia and Ed
I first met Anastasia and Ed through Sharon and Peter,, since Ed and Peter are brothers! I was so excited when they reached out for me to capture their engagement and wedding as well. Durham region has a lot of beautiful places for nature-inspired engagement sessions, and Cullen Central Park is one of those perfect spots for engagement photographs! Anastasia and Ed come here often with their family dog, so I was super excited when they suggested it as our engagement location. Since they are having a destination wedding, it was also nice to have one of their favourite spots captured. It was well worth the trip! Cullen Central Park was formally known as Cullen Gardens, and it was a popular spot in my childhood. It used to have a miniature village that I would visit with my family during the holidays. Now, it is a park with gorgeous forests and wild landscapes. Eventually, it will be transformed into a spa, so let’s enjoy the public access to the natural beauty while we can!
You will notice something a little different about this engagement post, in that there are two engagements! When you are having two weddings (an Orthodox ceremony and a destination wedding), why not have two engagement sessions!?!? That’s exactly what Anastasia and Ed did to celebrate their engagement. Their idea was to show their love across the seasons, and of course, Cullen Central Park made the perfect backdrop for this.
Fall Cullen Central Park Engagement
For the fall Cullen Central Park engagement photographs, we first went into the forest, and kept travelling south along the path to the large pond.
We then backtracked and followed the path to the big open field that had these gorgeous bright red trees in the backdrop. The fall colours were oddly timed last year, so we were so happy that we got a splash of red!
And of course, what is a fall engagement session without some fun in the leaves!
Spring Cullen Central Park Engagement
We started our spring Cullen Central Park engagement session in the same spot as the fall one – by this gorgeous tree in the forest. The light was so incredibly dreamy, so we took advantage of it!
And of course, we went back to the field to show the difference between fall and spring. The sky gave us a gorgeous pink and orange sunset!
I just photographed their Orthodox ceremony on the weekend and I am so excited for their destination wedding in Haliburton coming up! I love being an Ontario destination wedding photographer! I’ve never been to that area before, and I have heard that it is stunning, so I’m sure that there will be lots to explore!
