Wedding at the Meadows Stirling

The Meadows Stirling (also known as the Meadows Catering) is a gorgeous venue in Stirling, Ontario. It is one of my favourite spots for an outdoor wedding in Ontario! It is a quick drive north from the 401 in Belleville. The grounds are surrounded with lush, green fields. The main space is a rustic, yet polished barn, with you guessed it, full catering services! There is a gorgeous permanent outdoor ceremony space and there are rumours of a forest ceremony space launching soon! The owners are such wonderful people who put their hearts into their venue – I couldn’t recommend it more!

Gabe and Rupert lived out in BC, but the Quinte area is Gabe’s hometown. When they first reached out, they had narrowed it down to the Quinte area, but wanted to find the perfect venue. They love the outdoors and hiking with their dog, so an outdoor wedding at the Meadows Stirling was a great fit for them!

After Gabe finished getting ready nearby, her dad whisked her to the venue in a classic car. Gabe and Rupert were married in the beautiful ceremony spot that was personalized just for them. I love how the purple flowers really made the outdoor environment pop! Knot tying made the ceremony really unique. It is a meaningful way to have loved ones involved!

We went to the beautiful tall trees for wedding portraits before going to the barn for a gorgeous reception. The Meadows really knows how to host a party! Some highlights included: the emotional roller coaster speeches, making it up to the infamous hill just before the rain, Gabe and Rupert taking a quiet moment to speak to Gabe’s brother who could not be at the wedding, a touching first dance, and the bridesmaids dancing the night away in their Converse (the bride’s and flower girl’s were bedazzled!)

Another highlight? Gabe and Rupert supported environmental advocacy by supporting the Nature Conservancy of Canada for their wedding favours. This is a charity that “envision[s] a world in which Canadians conserve nature in all its diversity, and safeguard the lands and waters that sustain life.”

Gabe and Rupert have recently moved to the east coast and I love keeping in touch with them and their hikes on instagram! If you’re a fellow hiker, I’d love to follow your hikes on instagram, too!
