Whispering Springs Elopement

This Whispering Springs elopement was a stunning styled shoot planned and executed by Katrina Marie of Events Inspired. Every detail of this styled elopement came together perfectly. The most amazing thing of all is that it felt like a real wedding, complete with a great party at the end!

I wrote about my first visit to Whipsering Springs last spring. As soon as I met the owner and toured the space, I knew it was a very special place. It is a glamping wilderness retreat outside of Toronto and is the perfect spot for a getaway. The owners have put so much thoughtful detail in all parts of the property. They have also catered their property to stunning outdoor weddings. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful spots for an outdoor wedding in Ontario! So when this styled elopement was planned, I was overjoyed to be a part of it!

Whispering Springs has two main areas to get married – the forest chapel and the spring-fed pond. Both areas are absolutely stunning! (You’ll see a blog post about a gorgeous forest wedding from the fall soon!) For our bright spring-time sunset elopement, we opted to have the ceremony by the pond. The amazing florals by Quinns Blooms and Greenery really made everything pop! As you can tell by my photography and editing style, I absolutely love vibrant colours, so the whole thing was a dream!

After the elopement ceremony, we explored the grounds at Whispering Springs. The most iconic spots are the stunning bridge by the pond and the horse paddock. With everything timed to sunset, the light was perfect. It’s hard to articulate how much fun I had with Chris and Mariah. They are a real couple who made phenomenal models! I love to capture the personalities of the couples I photograph, even in styled sessions, so our elopement photographs were a mix of playful and romantic.

And another exciting detail – this styled elopement is the cover and feature story for the Spring 2019 issue of Hitched Magazine! I’m super pumped to see it in print!
