Best Outdoor Wedding Venues in Ontario
Do you and your partner spend a lot of your free time outdoors? Is spending the day under open skies the idea of your dream wedding? If so, an outdoor wedding might be the perfect fit for you! You might have seen my tips about best places for a forest wedding in Ontario, but perhaps you would like something outdoors that is not in a forest. I have photographed many beautiful outdoor venues around the province, so I am happy to provide my personal list of the best outdoor wedding venues in Ontario.
*Please note, all of these venues listed have an indoor spot for the reception. If you would like a spot with everything outdoors, I would recommend a DIY outdoor wedding at a cottage or backyard, or a wedding at Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat.
The Meadows Catering
The Meadows Catering is a newer wedding venue located north of Belleville, Ontario. It has a gorgeous permanent outdoor ceremony space, complete with a gorgeous arch and wooden benches. There are covered tents outside, but your reception will likely take place in the beautifully thought out rustic barn.
Strathmere
Strathmere is a premier wedding venue just outside of Ottawa, Ontario. Your guests will love your outdoor wedding celebration at one of the three ceremony sites. Gorgeous fields are the background for each ceremony site and there is a dreamy path leading into the venue. Three different buildings provide lots of room for you and your guests to enjoy the reception together. There are rooms at Strathmere for you and your wedding party to stay and get ready.
Timber House Resort
Timber House Resort is a beautiful venue in Brighton, Ontario. It is located steps away from the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario. You and your wedding party can stay overnight and get ready on site. Your ceremony can be out front with a gorgeous arch and wooded background. For your reception, there is the option of using the tent and/or the reception hall. Timber House Resort is a wonderful all-in-one outdoor wedding venue.
Prince Edward County
I put Prince Edward County as an entire wedding venue location because there are so many beautiful outdoor wedding locations in Prince Edward County. The Drake Devonshire, Waring House, Waupoos Winery, Casa Dea and the new 100 Acre Wood are all well-known spots in the county were countless couples have had beautiful weddings! Honorable mentions goes to Isaiah Tubbs, and Fields on West Lake.
Bonnie View Inn
There are many gorgeous wedding venues in Haliburton, but Bonnie View Inn is my favourite. I was so impressed with their organization and professionalism! Most of the weddings they host are on the gorgeous waterfront, but they went above and beyond to provide Anastasia and Ed with a beautiful Haliburton forest wedding at their property across the street!
Other Beautiful Ontario Venues
I have not had the pleasure of photographing weddings at all these locations (yet!), but I have heard wonderful things about each one of them! They all look like stunning outdoor wedding venues that I think would make a perfect choice for an outdoor wedding in Ontario.
Sherwood Inn – Since Muskoka is one of the most beautiful spots in Ontario, Sherwood Inn is well-known for it’s gorgeous scenery!
Deerhurst Resort – Another stunning wedding venue in Muskoka is Deerhurst Resort. A gazebo overlooks the stunning waterfront and there are views upon views. You and your guests will enjoy a glamorous outdoor experience.
Markham Museum – Is a beautiful historic site just outside of Toronto that hosts wedding ceremonies both inside the building and outdoors. (A similar venue that I have photographed and would recommend for outdoor wedding ceremonies is Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum) The only drawback to both of these spaces is that you and your guests will need to travel to another location for the reception.
Settler’s Farm – A gorgeous spot just south of Owen Sound catering to outdoor weddings and elopements! Not too far from Toronto, it makes a beautiful spot for an outdoor wedding!
Arowhorn Pines of Algonquin – There are many places to get married in Algonquin Provincial Park, but Arowhorn Pines is the most well known! The grounds look stunning and bonus, they still have availability for 2020!
